What is Finasteride?
Finasteride is a drug for treating male androgenetic alopecia or simply known as male pattern baldness which affects 70% of men at some point during their lifetime. This type of baldness occurs at the crown and in the middle of the scalp. This drug should be strictly used by adult men only.
Finasteride functions by reducing the levels of DHT (dihydrotestosterone), a natural body hormone. Low levels of DHT in the body results in increased hair re growth and slows down hair loss significantly. This drug doesn’t affect hair growth on other parts of the body.

How should I take Finasteride?
Always follow your doctor’s directions while taking finasteride or the patient leaflet that comes along with the medication. Don’t alter the dosage in any way below or above the prescribed limit.
Take this medicine orally with or without food, normally once daily or as prescribed by your doctor. Take the medicine regularly without missing any doses to get the maximum benefit out of it. It is recommended that you take the film coated tablet at the same time every day. You may have to wait for up to 3 months to notice some effects of this medication.
You have to continue taking this drug regularly to maintain the level of hair re growth. When you discontinue taking finasteride tablets, any benefit in hair quantity gain is reversed within a year generally.
